The capital of the island - the port city of Rhodes - is located at the northernmost tip. The modern city stands in the same place as the ancient one. Life here continues uninterruptedly for 2400 years, leaving historical monuments of all eras. It is interesting that today in the medieval part people live and work in the houses in which the knights once lived.
